Farmware Upgrade (Interlaken Release)

October 25, 2017 in Farmware Update

Release notes from the latest Farmware upgrade, available to all users now:

New Features

  • Style Update:
The look of Farmware has been dramatically updated and modernised. However, we have managed to maintain a very similar work flow for all processes within the app so existing users will not have to re-learn how to use Farmware. We have updated some of the code libraries we use, which also leads to better performance and consistency.
  • Bulk Testing/Monitoring:
You can now record testing and monitoring data such as crop count, pasture quantity or pasture composition in bulk, making the process much easier and faster to complete.

Improvements

  • Previously if two different units of the same type (eg. litres and millilitres) were recorded against a chemical or commodity then this could confuse the inventory calculator and make the inventory numbers invalid. This has been fixed and units are now converted behind the scenes to the default unit of the chemical or commodity.
  • If a chemical or commodity usage is recorded with an incompatible type of unit (eg. kilograms vs litres) then the user is warned of this in the storage location summary
  • Export to CSV is now available on the Planned Activity pages
  • The default filename for exporting to CSV is more meaningful and includes a date
  • When performing a head count during a livestock activity, any missing / dead are automatically recorded if the mob only as one sex
  • Added Fuel as a commodity type, allowing you to record the usage of petrol and diesel
  • Added a load limit to the Storage Activity Summary to mitigate long loading times
  • Volume per area (e.g. L/Ha) has been added as an option when recording water rate against a paddock activity.

Bug Fixes

  • Not all fields are mandatory for soil testing
  • Commodity storage location now shows when editing a livestock activity
  • Removed the option of exporting data from the Android app (use desktop for export).
  • Fixed bug where close button takes user back a page
  • When using 'Delete All Data' the internal stocking rate table is no longer removed
  • Fixed bug when trying to merge mobs of two different breeds
  • General speed improvement for large data sets
  • When 'Load next 100' is pressed whilst a filter is being applied the filter is now maintained

Farmware Upgrade (Hillwood Release)

October 10, 2016 in Farmware Update

Release notes from the latest Farmware upgrade, available to all users now:

New Features

  • A new Livestock Activity Search page that allows for much better control of filtering Livestock Activities
  • A new Storage Activity named ‘Bulk Stocktake’ allows for the rapid update of a number of inventory levels all at once.
  • It’s now possible to view the chemical and commodity inventory levels for any day in the past.
  • The Crop Activity Summary and Stocking Rate Report can now be exported to CSV.

Improvements

  • Navigation has been cleaned up so that the Back button behaviour should be more predictable.
  • Notes now correctly display line-breaks on summary pages.
  • An ‘Add Activity’ button is now available at the top of each activity summary screen when the user is not in setup mode.
  • If a new user tries to add a mob, a crop or a storage location without there being any paddocks then they are redirected to the add paddock screen.
  • Diary entries for Paddock Activities are now included in the Activity Summary.
  • The Livestock Divide activity now writes the names of the paddocks the mobs have been divided into in the notes.

Bug Fixes

  • When there are more than 100 entries on an activity summary screen the Load Next button used to ignore the current filter. This has been fixed.
  • Decimal points in the stocking rate report are now pruned where appropriate.
  • Livestock Activities that include a Head Count and the ability to update the size of the mob now cannot be saved without allocating a sex to the stock that is lost/gained.
  • Removal of a disused unit type ‘Ares’.
  • It’s now possible to rename a mob without also providing a mob division name.
  • It’s no longer possible to forward date agist activities or set them to ‘Planned’.
  • A fix for a rare case in Livestock Combine
  • The chemical selection list on the Paddock Activity Add screen now correctly shows only paddock related chemicals and not livestock ones.
  • DSE/Ha label added to Stocking Rate Graph

Farmware Upgrade (Forcett release)

March 31, 2016 in Farmware Update

Release notes from the latest Farmware upgrade, available to all users now:

New Features

  • A new “All Activity Summary” report is available that summarises recent Paddock, Livestock and Storage Activities along with Diary and Planner entries in a single list
  • It’s now possible to Print and Export to CSV the Planner day summary and the Diary screen

Improvements

  • Planner now lists more details of the activities on a particular day (more like the activity summaries)
  • It’s now possible to Print and Export the Planner Summary for a particular day
  • Bulk Spray is now more flexible in terms of recording sprays for paddocks without active crops
  • The Livestock Move activity now records the head counts of the stock being moved.
  • There are some places in Farmware that you can select multiple items at the same time via a list of checkboxes. If the list was very long then the close button disappeared off the screen and was hard to get back to. Now the close button stays at the top of the screen.

Bug Fixes

  • Tapping ‘Edit’ on a Bulk Spray Activity now always takes you to the new ‘Bulk Spray Edit’ menu.
  • It was possible to ‘double tap’ the Save button in some places and this would create dud entries. This has been fixed.
  • The Livestock Combine activity had to potential to create ‘empty’ mobs when certain types of combining were done. This is fixed.
  • Storage Activities that had been deleted weren’t syncing this change to the cloud or other devices. This has now been fixed.
  • The Android app wasn’t working offline, this has been fixed.
