The 'Stocking Rate' report is a great tool to understand and manage the density of animals on your land. This information is useful for optimising pasture utilisation, managing pasture species, assessing health issues within mobs and planning future grazing.
The DSE (Dry Sheep Equivalent) is calculated for each mob. This is an approximation of the feed requirements of a mob, taking into account species, sex and age. Total DSE numbers are then divided by the area to give you the stocking rate in DSE per Ha.
You can use stocking rates to compare the performance of your farm/paddocks against other farms/paddocks, and against historical data for your farm.
