Software developers Tim Bendall and James McShane will tomorrow meet with Economic Development Minister David O’Byrne at AGFEST to discuss their new phone application and the ways it can help farmers to maximise technology in the digital economy.

Minister O’Byrne will be formally launching the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Smarter Farming project, which Farmware is to take part in.

The meeting will take place at the TFGA tent (site 501, Fifth Avenue) at 12:45pm, Thursday 3rd May, following the Minister meeting with TFGA CEO, Jan Davis.

Farmware is a web application for smartphones that allows farmers to manage and record all of their farm data from the convenience of their mobile phone as well as their PC.

James McShane is a Sheep Farmer in the Central Highland district and is a two time winner of Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year Competition.

Tim Bendall is a Spatial Analyst with a programming pedigree who lives in Hobart.
